Ketchikan is nice but small. The South East Alaska Discovery Center is well worth a visit ($5) to learn more about Alaska, it's history, natural resources, wild life and culture. We took a Misty Fjords Flight-seeing booked with WMPH through the travel agency (not Celebrity). There are many companies operating air tours, the one we got had the oldest airplane, a De Haviland from 1966, noisy, lots of vibration and heat. The views were great, we landed on a lake for 30 minutes, I loved it. 


Ketchikan

As everywhere else, most shops are stocked with t-shirts and everything else you don't need. There is a nice pub, the Red Dog Saloon with local atmosphere, good local Alaska Amber beer on tap, a piano, superb Yakobi Smoked Chowder. We took a Whale Watching Cruise on a small fishing boat, and it was great. We saw lots of whales and at the port there where several eagles. 


Juneau

Skagway is very small, but pretty. We took a helicopter glacier discovery tour and it was great. Fantastic views from the helicopter, 6 passengers at the time, about 45 minutes on a glacier - be sure to wear a jacket, it is colder up there - there is only one helicopter operator here, be sure to book the tour before going there, they were all sold out. 


Skagway

Nice cabin, noisy location under the restaurant on 10th floor.

The regular restaurant on 10th floor has American breakfast on one side and British on the other.Vancouver is a cosmopolitan, modern city that has a clear European touch, with lots of beautiful things to see, good shopping and nice restaurants.
