Exclusively focused on cruise ship passenger trade and not much to do there at all, especially if you don't like to shop. We did do a nice hike there on our own by getting a Walking Tours Map at the Visitor's Center. VERY steep street climb before you get to the actual trail, but it was fun and we had great views down to the ship. 


Ketchikan

We did a bus to the Mendenhall Glacier and just wandered around there. Nice scenery once you get to the glacier. City itself didn't seem to have too much to offer; many stores were repetitive of Ketchican. 


Juneau

I liked Skagway. Had a better 'feel' than the previous two ports. We hiked the Lower Dewey Lakes Trail and really enjoyed it. Found out about the trails and got maps from the National Parks Visitor Center. The town also has its own visitor center with an informative free movie and some guided walks. There's a small museum in town too, although we didn't go to that. 


Skagway

Wish we had more time in Victoria! Walked through Beacon Park (natural and quiet), Empress Hotel (very impressive!), and the grounds of Parliament Building, which was illuminated after 9 PM. There was some kind of street artists festival going on along the harbor walk. Also, we walked up to the commercial area just up from where the cruise bus drops you (Government Street, maybe?) with lots of neat shops and little restaurants, plus their Chinatown. Tourist-friendly but not 'touristy.' 


Victoria

Had an almost-constant 'mystery noise' that sounded like running water through pipes.  Most noticeable when room was otherwise quiet. Could not hear a similar noise in the other 3 cabins in our group.

I never took the elevators at all and I found Deck #8 to be fairly 'central' both up/down and fore/aft.

There are 2 companies -- Seattle Express ($12) and Shuttle Express ($18) so be sure you take the right one.Other meals were a combination of concierge room service breakfasts, one poolside burger stop, and a few buffet meals in the 'cafeteria' area.
