My husband and I went from NYC to Bermuda on the Veendam from 7/10-7/17 and we had the time of our lives. We had been on Celebrity Solstice before which was phenomenal and we were fearful about being on an older ship. The Veendam is older but beautiful, and the advantage of an older ship is you get larger rooms. We had the cheapest inside room with no window and we were very very happy. Our room was very spacious and the queen bed was super comfy. The service and food was excellent! We mostly ate at the main dining room which was fabulous with lots of variety. We had the open seating and requested private seating and got it without hassle every time we dined. The lido offers a great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and was also excellent. We did not go to the pinnacle. The pizza place was great! The showroom entertainment was just okay, but the magician was amazing. Also, the strings quartet, the jazz group, the guitarist and the piano man were incredible and completely made up for the "eh" showroom entertainment. Bermuda is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I especially liked horseshoe bay (one of the best beaches in the world). We did not pay for any extra excursions and we got a bus pass and took the bus to get to all the beaches which was super convenient. The best part of this cruise is the convenience of the port being in NYC was great as we live here and did not need expensive time consuming flights. All in all this was a perfect trip and I have no complaints! :)
