Well done Thomson

Sail Date: June 2011
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
Embarkation: Other
We arrived at Palma airport at around 10-30 am. After collecting our luggage we were directed to the coach and our cases were loaded on. It took around 20mins to get to the port. We were first off the coach so we were first in the queue to check in which involves having your photo taken and registering your credit card details for on board credit. you are then issued with a cruise card which you use to board the ship and use for all your onboard purchases. While we were being checked in Our luggage was taken on the ship and was put outside our cabin. We were greeted by a line of cabin stewards and one of them took us to our room. The cabins on the Dream are very roomy, we were very pleased.It was kept spotless by our steward. The Waiter service Dining is open sitting in the main restaurant between 6-30 and 10pm in the evening. The food is really good with plenty of choice.... Also waiter service for breakfast and lunch. You can also use the lido which is self service 24 hours a day. More

We used the lido on deck 9 for breakfast which had a really good choice there was also an omlette station outside as well as fried boiled and scrambled eggs inside. You could also get breakfast and lunch at Sirens on deck 11.

The show each evening was in the Broadway showlounge at 8-15 and repeated at 10-30 so that late diners didn't miss out. The showteam were fantastic, They either did a West end themed show or songs from the musicals or Queen and Abba,and were led by Paul Fisher the cruise director. There was Also a guest comedian who did 2 shows. Following the 8-15 show there was a gameshow in the Medusa lounge or there was a choice of bars with a trio or a singer pianist or a classical duo.

The staff on board were mainly from the Phillipines and always had a smile and a joke especially in the main restaurant. Thanks Ferdie and Manny for your excellent service.

We have booked to go back on the Dream in the carribean {can't wait}

I have been on lots of cruises including Cunard and P&O and keep going back to Thomsons. I find the ships have the best atmosphere and the shows are fantastic........OK they are'nt

as plush as the bigger ships and they haven't got climbing walls or ice rinks but most of the passengers that I speak to are repeat cruisers.

Well done Thomson for yet another fantastic holiday!!!!!!!!!!! Less

Cabin review: OU5048

Our cabin was very roomy with a queensize bed, a double wardrobe with shelves under. could have done with a bit more drawer space. It was in a very quiet location. Handy for the restaurant and lifts

Port and Shore Excursions

Barcelona is one of my favorite ports. We docked beside the trade centre. The best berth you can get. A short walk from La Ramblas. You can see plenty of live statues here. Very entertaining but be careful, there are lots of pickpockets here

There are open topped buses at the port. I suggest you take one if you havent booked a trip. It is quite a long walk uphill into the centre.

Went to Herculaneum, because we have done Pompei several times. Although we enjoyed it we prefer Pompei.
