We flew on AA from JFK on June 14, arriving 10:30 am on the 15th - day of embarkation. You need to allow at least an hour to clear immigration - much longer than I would have thought. Used Advanced Airport Cars from Southampton to transfer to the ship with a stop in Stonehenge. By the time we reached the ship around 2 pm we were tired. Although Princess says arrive after 2:00 for faster check-in, they were giving numbers out for boarding and people were seated waiting to be called. We happen to have priority boarding so there was no problem in that area.
Le Havre - we used D-Day landing tours with Eric. We visited several beaches and Eric had all the information and detail that anyone could want.
Edinburgh - G and S taxis with Gordon met us at the dock and took us to the castle. We arrived around 9:40 and hooked up with the free tour which gave a nice overview. We used the explorer pass for admission. By the time we left the castle in late morning there were lines to enter. We walked down the Royal Mile looking in stores. I expected more shops. At the bottom of the Royal Mile is the Parliament Building. Open even on Sat. Great bathroom, plenty of room to sit and small cafe for coffee. Met up with Gordon and proceeded to St. Andrews. Walked on the course, bought some souvenirs in town and then it was time to head back to the ship. Full day and great service from Gordon.
