After an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn, Southampton, it was just a short walk to the cruise terminal and we were soon on board after a very efficient check in.This was our 12th cruise but our first Celebrity cruise and we were very impressed. Our stateroom (6156) was kept in immaculate condition. Found the bed to be very comfortable, and appreciated having a shower and bathroom larger than we have had on other ships. This stateroom also had a larger than usual balcony, which was great for relaxation. We had fixed dining in the Moonlight Sonata every night, and the food and service was the best we have had on any cruise ship. This was also true of the buffet where we had breakfast and lunch. Normally I'm not a big fan of buffet food, but the buffet food on the Eclipse was also the best we have experienced, and the design of the buffet area eliminated most of the usual queuing for food.Enjoyed the shows and shipboard entertainment which we thought were of a high standard.Ship was kept in immaculate condition, and all the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. We did a few Celebrity shore tours. The tours of Florence and Rome were the highlights, and although slightly expensive were very enjoyable.Certainly the best cruise we have done so far (we have mostly cruised with Princess and NCL). We enjoyed it so much we have booked another cruise next year on the Eclipse.
