Experienced problems with embarkation. SeaPass cards were not ready/available. We boarded ship with a paper boarding pass. Total time to get on ship and have a SeaPass card was in excess of 1.5 hours. Crew did not know what to do with a paper boarding pass. Had to wait on 3 different lines.
Stateroom (#1578) was well equipped and all of our luggage was there when we arrived. The view from the balcony showed chipped paint, exposed metal, and rust galore. For a vessel coming out of dry dock, one would not expect to see that type of external conditions.
Dining experience was the worst I have experienced on RCCL ships. Food came cold or appetizers / soups never appeared. Head Waiter was more interested in going thru his script than dealing with the poor service. When told about the cold food, his comment was "We will get in right tomorrow.". In our party, there were suppose to be two anniversary celebrations. Neither one of them were acknowledged by the dining room staff (waiter or head waiter). Space in the Windjammer Cafe is now at a premium. With over 1/2 of the original area taken away for the new restaurants, people were racing around to find tables. The Windjammer food is OK and it seems to be consistent from ship to ship as for taste and quality. On the other hand, the dining room food was very poor quality and taste. The best meal I had was the 14.95 Chops Fillet. All of the other main dishes were below Royal Caribbean standards. Salmon on a Cedar Plank had such a strong lemon/citrus taste that the Head Waiter claimed that it was due to the Cedar Plank. (huh???). Escargot was cold and rubbery.
Overhang needs work. Chipped paint, exposed metal, and rust all around greeted the occupants of the cabin.
