I've been back a couple of days. Took the June 13 - June 22 New England & Canada cruise. Look, I've only been on three cruises on two different lines, but the person I was traveling with has extensive experience and while our opinions differed a little on some things, mostly we were on the same page: this cruise was an over-crowded nightmare straight out of Charles Dickens - with lots of quantity and little in the way of quality.
GENERAL THOUGHTS:
Throughout the entire cruise I had an overwhelming feeling of being SQUISHED. It seemed like no matter what time of day or night, it was virtually impossible to even stroll around the Promenade (or anywhere else on the ship for that matter) without constantly bumping into people and dodging people who were standing in the middle of nowhere looking, talking whatever. Perhaps, as previous reviewer noted, the fact that there were NO SEATS contributed to this, but, even if there were wall-to-wall chairs, that would not cancel out the OBVIOUS fact: JUST TOO MANY FREAKING PEOPLE ON THIS BOAT - PERIOD. Lines for EVERYTHING. The only time I didn't have a line was when I decided to go to the Lido Deck for some pop corn that they were giving out there for the outdoor night movie - and if the weather was decent, there probably would have been a line for that. Not enough elevators - not sure if they were all working, but, constant waiting and crowds for that. Even with a bad knee, I found myself doing stairs just to avoid it.
there was some kind of "flushing" sound in my cabin continually - sounded like water was moving back and forth across my ceiling, 24 hours a day. Otherwise it was very roomy and fine... bed acceptable.
