My mother ( aged 78) and I boarded the Grandeur of the Seas for a week, just us ( i use the term loosely) girls. We had booked a balcony cabin but after 2 days of problems in cabin 7032 with the Air Con, I politely asked at Reception to be moved. David on Reception was very good and showed me to a Cabin on Deck 8. This turned out to be the second largest cabin on board and was in fact one of only two Owners Suites. To say it was large for a Suite is a slight understatement and we were thrilled to have been given such an upgrade. However, it does then show you how different categories of cabins. suites are treated on board. Our card was changed to a Gold Card and this summons almost instant attention in shops on board, dining rooms bar etc etc.The Jacuzzi bath and the large comfy wicker loungers on the very spacious balcony were an instant hit with both of us and we made good use of them. Breakfast on the balcony was a wonderful experience. The ship itself is in need of a bit of an update but all the staff were really helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.I agree with other reviews, food was not up to RC standard. Choices were much more limited and staff were not as willing to adapt foods or serve food without certain elements, whereby on previous RC ships this was no problem. However we were at a table of 8 and enjoyed the Company of two other couples from Scotland and one mother and daughter from the States. I would agree the shuttle buses are a rip off but when you have an older person with you, it makes it easier to have these organised for you rather than having to wait until you leave the ship and hope there is transport available. All in all we had a great time, so remember if you need to complain do so politely as you will never know where you will end up.

Cabin Review

Owner's Suite

Cabin OS

Owners Suite - 8532 - Lovely large suite with huge bathroom, with jacuzzi bath, shower, twin basins. Very large open spaces and plenty of cupboard space. Two large LCD TVs, enough sleeping space for 4. Large balcony with two wicker loungers with comfy mattresses. Great accommodation but pricey .
