As we were travelling in Portugal and Spain for 10 weeks over Spring we decided to incorporate a cruise round-trip from Valencia on Adventure of the Seas. It was the first time RCI had used the Port of Valencia, and there were many problems with embarkation, caused mainly by the Port, as far as we could tell. However once we were on board we were very impressed with the ship, and we loved our inside cabin overlooking Royal Promenade; it was large and comfortable, and the window seat afforded a great view of all the goings-on below. We had a very late dinner sitting in the dining room (9.30pm), due to the mainly Spanish passengers, but the food and service was excellent every night. The food in Windjammer was also of a very high standard. Our only issue with meals was the very high price of quite ordinary wine, but we had been spoilt by fantastic Spanish wines at very inexpensive prices during our time in Spain. The entertainment was fantastic, particularly the production shows, and we went most nights. We also enjoyed the sauna and steam rooms, and the whirlpools at the Solarium. Our focus for this cruise was relaxation rather than the ports, especially as we had recently had extensive travels in Italy. However we really enjoyed strolling around the charming town of Ajaccio, Corsica, and having a small taste of France there. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Adventure of the Seas, and once again RCI delivered on all aspects to provide us with a wonderful cruise experience.
