Day before the cruise: We stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami the night before our cruise. It was perfect. Across the street was Bayside Market and numerous restaurants. The hotel was about one block from the Arena where the Heat and Mavericks were playing what would be the last game of the finals. We could hear the crowd roar from our room as we watched on tv!Parking: We used Premier parking. This was about 2 blocks from our hotel. Parking is $7 per day and they shuttle you to and from the port. We were parked and in a shuttle within 10 minutes. Embarkation: Very smooth. We were on board the Destiny within 25 mins of arriving at the port.Dining Services: We ate in the dining room every night. Our wait staff was wonderful! Food was great. My son enjoys the cuisine of cruises, every night he had two starters, a main course and two desserts. (He is 6'3' and weighs 155 soaking wet, so he was hoping to put on some pounds...he did not gain a pound.) Wait staff performed 2 nights. Room Staff: Our room steward found us and introduced himself immediately. Our room was always fresh and clean. He kept our drinks from home on ice every day. We also had a towel animal every night. Room: We were in a interior room on the Upper Deck. Our room was directly over the disco so there was some "bumping" sounds at night but we were not bothered by it.
