This was a short getaway from work, life, etc. and it proved to be the best little cruise/vacation in a while. We left Charleston, SC the day before and spent the night in Daytona. Got up in the morning had a short drive to the port and arrived right after 10am. Went thru security quickly - except for me being wanded as I have replacement hips - and were whisked away to VIP check in due to the Cat. 11 suite. In nothing flat were were in nice chairs awaiting boarding which happened around 11am. We were one of the first to board after 4 wedding groups. I have been on this in 2008 prior to the upgrades and was duly impressed with the shape of the ship... YES it still have purple all over the place but other stuff was great. Refrig in room, only a couple of cokes which we never touched, nice flat screen tv, etc. The ship was not overcrowded with children, nor were the 20-30's drunk every night, or if they were it was not obnoxious. I had a few (OK a many), played in the casino a bit, enjoyed the serenity area. Overall a great time and a really good last night as we did the Chef's Table. NOW that is a treat - OK it's $75 extra but by the time you add in the bubbly, wine during dinner, pictures and the cookbook for the ladies PLUS the food - well it was a great 4 HOUR treat. A tour of the galley while it is working, 4 apps in the galley with bubbly, then a 6 (or was it 7?) course meal with all the wine you can drink... WOW.

The disembarkation was great - we did self and was on the road home by 7:45am.

Nassau we only wandered around a bit as my wife wanted a "coach" wallet. We have done Nassau both on cruises and land vacations and really enjoyed having the ship to "ourselves". One neat thing in Nassau was that our daughter was on the Fantasy out of Charleston and we got to meet on the docks.. kinda strange meeting your daughter in another country for a short "hello" but it worked. She had a great time on the Fantasy also. Good sailing!
