This was our first cruise. We had planned to do this a year ago but had to postpone. As a result, we had an entire year to look forward to this. We took the Millennium southbound from Seward, Alaska down to Vancouver departing May 27. Our two sons (ages 20 and 12) traveled with us. My husband and I were in a Celebrity Suite (7140) with our sons next door in a veranda room. This cruise was affected somewhat by the fact that we spent the entire week under sanitation conditions related to illness onboard the previous week (and our week?). The crew cleaned constantly and we used hand sanitizer many times a day. Having said that, we still managed to have a wonderful vacation and are open to cruising again the future. The weather was wonderful and Alaska is beautiful.
Our Celebrity Suite was very comfortable. We found ourselves stopping to get a drink and dessert from the Cova cafe and then returning to our room to set by those lovely windows and watch the beautiful views. Alaska had much to keep us busy. We took an excursion at each port, but I think we could have been happy just wandering each port and enjoying the activities on board. There wasn't time to do everything I wanted to do. Although this cruise wasn't kid-oriented, it was kid-friendly and my sons had a great time. My younger son's only complaint was not being able to join us in the therapy pools(which I understand). My husband enjoyed acupuncture onboard and we both enjoyed the Persian Gardens. We also enjoyed ballroom dancing every day. This was our family's best vacation ever.
I am posting a long review on the Celebrity area of the discussion boards.
