We traveled on the NCL Pearl May 29-June 5, 2011 to Alaska round-trip from Seattle. It was an amazing trip filled with lots of blessings. Our family's last cruise was on the Queen Victoria which was a wonderful ship and difficult to beat since we had a terrific time cruising the Mediterranean 2 years ago but NCL Pearl now takes 1st place. NCL provided the most outstanding customer service with top notch suites and common areas and privileges. Thank you so much, Carlos, for taking such good care of us. Everyone staff member knew our names. We stayed in a Courtyard Suite - the perks entailed priority embarkment to our rooms bypassing lines, breakfast and lunch at Cagney's or in the private courtyard, private pool, hot tub, exercise room, courtyard and upper porch. All you can eat m&m's, gummy bears and cookies, invitations to a private reception with captain, tour of the bridge and pre-opening picture opportunity to chocolate buffet party and reserved section at the theater and priority disembarkment at each port and in Seattle. We felt like royalty.
Our suite was very clean, huge and everything was exactly where it should be. The architects took lots of time to design the rooms perfectly to meet our needs. One feature that I particularly loved was the bathroom - the shower was amazing with rainfall and jet nozzles, lots of closet space and double sinks with vanity area plus a huge window over the tub which when we awoke in Alaska the 2nd day we were amazed to see snow capped mountains from the window.
Loved the freestyle concept - we loved the Italian and Mexican restaurants. Also loved the fact that we did not have to wear evening wear and could eat where and when we wanted. I do recommend you make reservations the first day - you can always cancel before 5pm each day or move the time. The Franky Valley show was great.
