We sailed on Splendor on May 2 for 11 Night Greek Isles & Turkey cruise. While the ship does need updating, it was clean and the public areas were in good shape. Our cabin showed its age, and it had a small, old model TV that was somewhat limited on channels. There was no channel with continuous information and maps on our location, and no bridge information channel. Cabin storage was very good.
There was no Specialty restaurant. Windjammer layout is very poor and the various food bars were confusing. People were going both ways at many counters, along with breaking in line for whatever they wanted. Quality of the food was OK, but was not as good as we have had on other RCCL and Celebrity cruises. King & I Dining Room was nice, but we were disappointed in the food. No lobster tails or really good quality beef served and appetizers like Escargot were only served once. Again while food mostly OK in the Dining Room, it was below what we have had on other ships.
Here is a warning for your clothing planning. All RCCL pre-cruise documents state that there will be 2 formal nights on the eleven night cruise. Wrong! After we were on board, we found out there would be 3 formal nights. RCCL should correct that and stick to 2 formals.
Closet and other storage was good. Balcony adequate. Liked the location. It was quiet and close enough to center of the ship to make it easy to get around. Views were unobstructed.
