While I enjoyed the family vacation, I was very disappointed in the suite and do not think we got anywhere close to the value for the price we paid. We booked a forward suite on Deck 10 (10518) and the connecting State Room (10516) for the 4 us us travelling together. The pillows in the suite were soft, not so for the state room which had hard cheap pillows. Same experience for the beds although the bed in the suite aleady had the weak edge where people sit getting in/out of bed which extended a good way into the mattress so it wasn't as nice nor comfortable as it maybe once was. The "balcony" was the smallest excuse of a balcony I have ever seen and shouldn't have even been mentioned as a feature. I still can't believe they call it the large balcony when it barely holds 2 fixed sitting chairs only. The hair dryers are close to useless, and though the ship was updated 2 years ago, the chairs and couch in the suite were cheap and uncomfortable. Unlike the Norwegian Dawn which included walkie-talkie type phones for communicatiing with each other while on the ship, the Spirit did not. The power transformer/converter which was necessary to power any US plug was the size of a car battery and was in the way of the vanity. The 3-legged chair in front of the vanity was yet another poor choice of furniture both for use and comfort. For the large sum of money we spent, we should have received vouchers for the 4 of us to waive the cover fee restaurants, vouchers for a decent bottle of house wine instead of what was offered which was comparable to "2 Buck Chuck" bottle of wine. We had to call maintenance for the air conditioners in both rooms, the TVs in both sleeping quarters, and to replace the US power converter (the large car battery size unit mentioned earlier), and the bathroom scales. While all were fixed/replaced to our satisfaction, they should have been in top operational order to begin with. There are only 2 pools for playing around in, one is the kids area pool with slides and the other is supposed to be the adult pool, but no ship staff bothered to enforce adults only. If you don't mind having pool salt water splashed into your alcoholic beverage while cooling off in the water, then maybe you don't mind having kids in the adult only pool, we found it to be irritating. If this had been my first experience with a Norwegian ship, I would never go on one again. The meals in Windows dining area were good. Our Concierge had warned us to order a double size dinner for lobster night as the tails were small. We had to do this for several of the entrees during the week. The entertainment during the week was good to fair, and again, compared to other cruises we have been on, ranks at the bottom for shows and venues. On Captain's Night the crew was gone before we got to the room, and the overall event was poor when compared again to the Norwegian Dawn. Our butler, concierge, and room staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area waiters were terrific as well, we can't fault them for the overpriced drinks and beer buckets.

Suite 10518 -- smaller than we expected, tiny useless balcony, European electrical outlets, showers water runs hot and cold never consistent temperature during the shower. While I enjoyed the family vacation, I was very disappointed in the suite and do not think we got anywhere close to the value for the price we paid. We booked the forward suite on Deck 10 (10518) and the connecting State Room (10516) for the 4 us us travelling together. Also, the noise from the hallway could be heard in the sleeping area. The bed is against the wall with the hallway on the other side. During the rough water of the Mississippi, the suite 2 rooms up from ours the pocket door separating the rooms was free to slam back and forth most of the night adding to the noise.
