Travelled with my friend after a fantastic holiday in USA. Expected a lot from the QM2 and was very disappointed. The cabin was good, plenty of space and comfy beds. The restaurant is nicely decorated but service was slow and the food not 4* by any stretch of the imagination. Previous cruises with Princess and Royal Caribbean served much superior food. The buffet on the Queen Mary 2 was the worst ever! Not much by way of choice, same every day, especially breakfast, and surroundings left a hell of a lot to be desired. On all previous cruises I have found the staff extremely helpful, always someone nearby and looking to assist, not so on the QM! The entertainment was okay, dancers were excellent, but obviously catered for an older audience. Thank goodness for the nightclub where you could at least find some modern dance music. The band Vibz were great. We enjoyed the RADA performances, very entertaining. We found the layout of the ship a bit like moving through a train carriage, pretty disjointed and confusing. This ship is not good for any single travellers, anyone young at heart or for food lovers! Cunard were extremely unhelpful after a mixup with the booking agents. Not flexibility with the office staff on land. It took no less than 5 letters to sort out the problem, not impressed! Never again I'm afraid.
