Having just experienced a cruise to the Mediterranean on Eclipse, I was totally disappointed at what is supposed to be 5 Star cruising. No way!!!Checking in on line was brilliant. Parking the car and shuttle bus to the terminal at 2.15 and straight through check in. On reaching the ship, chaos with the free champagne, couldn't get moved outside of Eclipse Theatre and choked down my glass.Cabin was as good as on previous cruises with rival company disappointed no free bottle of water, this had to be paid for at $4.75 outrageous. Bought 6 bottles of water in supermarket for 0.95euros. The ship on exploration was in the least outstanding and cleanliness superb.Lunch in the Ocean view cafe was reasonably good with plenty of choice, There was a big difference in the Moonlight Sonata restaurant however. Choice of meals poor throughout the 14 days and root vegetables over this period were limited to carrots potatoes with beans as an addition. Chef must have left turnip, swede, parsnip, beetroot, red and green cabbage mange toute at Southampton, As far as chef choice for the evening Meatballs in sauce, veal coated in breadcrumbs, I don't call this 5 Star dining more like pub grub Asked for a side order of peas, sorry there is non left got spinach, don't serve pepper sauce with New York steak, No custard to go with apple tart. Plated meals plates were always cold and food served on them look warm. My wife never finished a meal. Prawn cocktail consisted of 4 prawns served on a bed of lettuce and broth that was like water. Give me silver service any time.Wines with the meal, you couldn't buy a carafe of house wine or even a glass of house wine and the bottles were not cheap> Ended up buying 1 bottle of wine in 14 days. A carafe of wine at a reasonable price and it would have been every night so the company lost out. To be honest I had better lunches in the Ocean view and if this is 5 star dining I've had better pub meals. As far as dress code on formal nights not always adhered to may as well have been on Ocean VillageMe I'm going back to P&O for my next cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1C

Cabin 1C

The cabin was clean and well kept by the stewards as big as anything we've had before with the balcony. Who designed the hand wash basin with that tap directly over the middle of the sink. You could not wash your face without banging your head on the tap.
