We took a family vacation - there were 11 of us. My husband's parents, his sister and her husband and three daughters, and our family of four. Our ages ranged from 70 down to 1!The ship was great. Clean and efficient. So much to see and do.We flew into Sea-Tac and took the Princess Airport to Port transfer. This took a little longer than anticipated. It seemed they were a little behind schedule.Once we got to the port, embarkation was a snap. Although each family had their own boarding passes, etc., they made a point of working with us as a group and treating us well. They have a very streamlined process and it works! Our cabin was adequate. A little smaller than I had anticipated, but still a decent size. The balcony really helps open it up. We didn't have the crib we requested, nor the robes we requested for our cabin. When we saw our Cabin Steward, we requested these items again and she brought them to us before we needed them.During our cruise, our Cabin Steward was absolutely wonderful. She took great consideration that we were traveling with two small children. She would leave different treats for them each night - cookies, an extra candy, animals made out of towels. All of this was greatly appreciated by us and our children! She was very efficient and friendly. She anticipated a lot of our needs before we did!We had breakfast everyday in at the Horizon Court Buffet. The waitstaff in the buffet at breakfast was hit or miss. Sometimes they were on it, other times, we had to ask 5 times for a highchair or juice or silverware. The food was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary, but pretty standard buffet fare. For lunch we'd either eat at the Horizon Court Buffet or out on the Lido Deck by the pool with either pizza or a burger and some ice cream. Again, all pretty standard. We chose Anytime Dining for dinner to allow us the option of dining at a time more appropriate for the kids. It worked out wonderfully. We easily called mid-morning every day to make a reservation for the entire group. They always had the highchair(s) we needed at the table. The food was delicious with great options. There were standards on the menu every night but they also had their specials which spiced it up a bit. The Kid's Menu had a great variety as well. On our first night we ran into the issue of my 3 year old's pickiness. I asked our waiter if they had Mac & Cheese. He went to get the Head Wait(ress) for us for this special request. She ordered it for us promptly. I have to say, it was the best Mac & Cheese I have ever eaten!I want to take a minute to talk about the Head Waitress. Every night she went above and beyond her job to ensure my children were comfortable, enjoyed their meals and were entertained. She also went above and beyond to make sure we had any little thing we wanted or needed. She was friendly, kind and personable. We all agreed none of us have ever received service anywhere in the world (and we've all traveled extensively) that can even come close to comparing to the service she provided to us. Looking over the Princess Patter at night, it seemed there was always something to do or see on the ship. Art Auction, Ballroom Dancing lessons, live cooking shows, etc. It was nice to have so many options...and the option of doing nothing but relaxing with a hot cup of tea out on deck.We went to a couple shows in the Princess Theater. They seemed pretty run of the mill, but still entertaining. I would suggest getting there early for a decent seat.We also went to the Vista Lounge for a few shows. Those were more intimate and a more enjoyable. At night, we'd head up to the Skywalker's Nightclub for some music and dancing. It was fun. A great mix of people! And the waitstaff up here was fantastic as well. Very friendly, funny and great memories! There was one night my husband and I went out after the kids went to bed (Grandma was staying with them to allow us some time alone), we went to the Vista Lounge but they were between shows and they wouldn't serve us a drink. We decided to go upstairs to Skywalker's since that is where we knew we'd end up anyway and they weren't open yet and wouldn't serve us a drink. We went back down to the Promenade deck and had to go to two other bars for a drink. It may seem excessive of us to find a bar to sit in and have a drink. However, I found it to be ridiculous that at a prime time (9PM), we had to go to so many places to try to find a place to sit down together over a drink. Our 3 year old really enjoyed the Fun Zone. She was always asking to go "to daycare" as she put it. They played games, did art projects, had a talent show. She still remembers, almost a year later, how much fun she had! We were a little disappointed they didn't have anything for kids under 3.The best experience we had was sitting on our balcony during the Scenic Cruising of the Tracy Arm Fjord early in the morning over coffee. Such a glorious experience that I would love to repeat!Overall, it was quite a wonderful trip!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

We had a cabin with balcony that could accommodate up to four people. Our children being too small for the bunks in the ceiling, we tried to get a roll away bed and crib. We were only able to get the crib, therefore our 3 year old had to sleep in the queen size bed.

Although the additional bunks state this could sleep 4 people, it would have been unbearable to have 4 adults in the cabin. Two adults and two children - and we were still tripping over each other!

The balcony was wonderful. We spent a lot of time on the balcony for fresh air in a private setting.
