I booked a 15 day Panama Canal transit from Mia to San Diego on the Celebrity Century.Based on previous cruises I expected a step up in Food Service and activities.Food I prefer the main dining room. The DIY dining on the buffet is nt my thingbut the food was sub standard for me. No Lobster. The one night Surf and Turf had a Surf of one small salad size shrimp. Had a decent Turkey breast one night and Prime Rib one night but the rest of the time was dissapinted.,Activities The clustered activities that were of interest, the trivias, the explorihg the next port etc, so you had to pick one, miss the others and frequently have the entire day empty.Excursions. They encourage cruise line sponsored shore excursions. Since I was traveling with Cruise critic Members they had arranged 2 independent excursions, one in Cartegna and one in Acapulco. Both were excellent. In Colon since the Panama Canal was the main attraction of this cruise I joined about 16 others in the advertised train/bus cross panama excursion.I had some doubts up front since the listing online said tender to the train. the other train excursion said bus and when I contacted Celebrity was told the listing was old and that no tender was involved .Anyway Clebrity had all their excursions meet in the Theater and called groups as busses were set up.We were to be at train at 10 AM. Didn't leave the ship to 10:30.When we arrived at the train were told we were 2 hours late and due to scheduled freight trains would have to wait for a space to travel. We were later told that to make up for the time behind, we would take the train not the bus back and the stop at the locks was less then 45 minutes. No time to see the movie or museum !Around 3:30 on the way back we were served a box lunch which was a joke.a 1 oz of raising, 4 small cookies, a small pringles and a sandwhich which wasa roll , mustarded, and 2 slices of lunch meat ( told turkey) so thin you could see through them. The train car was OK but the windows were lexan and had been destroyed by petroleum fumes, Were told they were going to be repaced but in the meantime the side facing the canal was obstructed visionWhile on the train many of us voiced out dissatisfaction and planned to say so to the Excursion desk.I did this and from talking to others after I know they did however Celebrities response was 2 days later to tell me they had called all on the excursion and I was the only one dissatisfied. They stopped one inch short of saying I was lying about the situation encountered. That sort of ruined my entire trip. Add to the food and the trip was really disappointing. To top things off I was hacking and coughing after Acapulco ( as an aside the tour there, tourbyvan with rudy was great) And discovered I had bronchitis and a lung infection. Didn't really eat the last 3 days .First cruise I actually lost weight.Would like to do the Canal again but never will get on a Celebrity Ship again. In elevators and at the MDR dinners heard lots of negative comments.Oh did I mention double billing drink package, that took visiting guest relations for 5 days to get it resolved.

Cabin Review

Had an Inside but on Deck 10 and was close to the lido deck stairs. Was a little noisy at night but was a older group and the activities died early

Room was large enough and didn't miss no window Had enough closet space but traveling solo
