Sail Date: Dec 2004

The ship's condition was good, especially for one that is about 10 years old. There were a few stains on the carpet in our stateroom, but everything was in good working order. Beware of the sewage smell around the main stairway on the cruise ship. (Yes, the rumors you've read in other critiques here are true.)

The food in the Great Gatsby dining room is the best on the ship, but it is still not the best cruising food we've ever had. The Windjammer has the same food all the time and it's not that good. The Cafe in the Solarium has cardboard pizza and limp hamburgers/hot dogs, but it has French fries to die for! That's it as far as your food options. Good luck finding food anywhere but the Cafe when you come back on board the ship from a land excursion. There is always a long line there in the afternoon in port since there are no other options!

Our cabin steward Alberto was excellent, as was our waiter Tamas and his assistant Koryl. The service staff in the restaurants were great.
