  3. Carnival Pride
Our Background - Married, 45-50, no kids. This was our 3rd cruise with Carnival, 3rd ship.

This review will be brief but hopefully informative enough.

We arrived in Baltimore Friday night, did the Stay, cruise and Park with Days Inn Glen Burnie -- no issues at all. Went to the Inner Harbor Saturday, sightseeing -- beautiful area of what we saw, despite many warnings to not go astray. We weren't there past dark, but day time, never felt un easy at all.

Ate at Bo-Brooks with a table full of steamed crab, watching the boats and enjoying our first "official" day of vacation.

Used the hotel shuttle - signed up for the 10:00 am shuttle which is shared with neighboring property of LaQuinta. The hotel was clean, hot breakfast in the morning -- too cold for the pool, but the pool area looked nice.

Arrived about 10:30 (maybe a little earlier) at the port, unloaded luggage directly into the trams. Be sure to have your luggage tags on already - it goes quicker.

Went into the building, waited about an hour inside, no pictures allowed, then checked in, got our sail and sign, and waited for our zone to be called. We are on the lido enjoying our first DOD by 12 or so. Rooms weren't ready until 3:00, but no issues here - we thoroughly enjoyed just watching all the excitment building.

The ship was clean, the food was good. We did nothing but relax the whole trip. First time ever we didn't do a single show -- but that's okay because we're going back in September.

Our favorite Port is Half Moon Cay - beautiful, relaxing beach day. Grand Turk was second. We went to Pillory beach at the Bohio and spent a few hours on the beach. The water was a tad colder then we would have liked, but we enjoyed anyway. Freeport - we started to walk around Lucaya market place, but ended up over at the Radisson in the casino. Nice little casino, standard games - more updated then what was on the Pride in terms of the slots.

Can't wait to get back. I don't know where all the negative is coming from. We loved the ship, all the spaces we went to and never had a bad meal, bad staff or bad experience that wasn't of our own doing.

Awesome Cruise

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Freeport
Freeport has an opportunity to become a great port. We are as experienced as some but we're glad we got off the ship to explore for ourselves instead of relying on all the negative reviews. The problem with this port as with any of the others is that each shop has exactly the same merchandise - except few - that you can actually see the individuals making what their selling. We enjoyed our informative cab ride, the walk, and the casino. Our only problem was the time was too short.

  • Grand Turk
Grand Turk - we rented a golf cart and were told to leave our key in the cart, no issues -- well, someone took the wrong one, but it was immediately rectified. Our only loss would have been our Tennis shoes --- so, if you rent a cart - LOOK at the number on the cart, and take the key out. We enjoyed some time looking around the island, then headed to Pillory beach. Not much by way of snorkeling activity there, but we still enjoyed - we'll look to another beach next time -- just to improve the snorkeling experience.
