I think if P&O was your first ever cruise you wouldn't know any better and might think it was marvellous, but we have cruised before with Royal Caribbean (3 times) and Princess Cruises (once). Being British, we thought we'd try P&O for a change. What a mistake - our 2 week cruise was more expensive than RC but for our money we got sub-standard service, rooms and facilities. Our en-suite toilet inexplicably kept flooding (which the plumber seemed to find funny), there was an annoying squeaking at night from the roof, which despite reporting twice, I found I had to fix myself, and the balcony cabin was shabby and not as spacious as those we've had on previous cruises. The crew were surly, unfriendly and unprofessional, generally had a bad attitude, and were continually moaning about P&O. When I complained to P&O about various problems I found they were defensive and not interested in listening to valid customer points. Reading other reviews I find we were not the first passengers who have disembarked from a P&O cruise early. We got off the ship after 4 days because it was so awful, and had to make our own way home. Overall it was an ordeal, not a holiday. We have just booked again with RC, but never again P&O!
