We joined 4 other couples on this cruise. we met on the Celebrity Mercury in the fall and got together again on this cruise. We are all Celebrity Elite. We met each morning for the elite breakfast. Our waiters Moses & Wilson were great. After the 1st day they knew what we wanted and went to get our speciality coffees immediately. We usually had bloody mary's here after our coffee. We flew to FLL the day before and stayed at the Fairfield Inn on Griffin Road. We were upgraded to a suite and it was very nice. They picked us up at the airport at no charge. The shuttle to the ship is $8 each person. Embarkation We took the 10:30 shuttle. We arrived about 11 and had no wait to check in. We were seated in the order we checked in. There was no priority embarkation. We were on the ship with our mimosas by 11:30. We went to our cabin and dropped our carry-ons. We then met some of our friends and had lunch at the buffet. It wasn't crowded at this time. FoodWe found the food on this cruise to be very good. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch. We had 2nd seating dinner and a table for 2. Our waiter Hosea and Asst. Dennis took very good care of us. We found something to our liking every night. The maitre-d visited our table almost every night. He prepared extra desserts such as crepes suzette, bananas foster, chocolate & grand mariner souffles on several nights. We ate in Ocean liners 1 night and it was great. We tried the goat cheese souffle and had petite filet mignon and lamb chops for our entree. Our waiter also brought us a lobster on the side. We had the chocolate souffle and the grand mariner souffle for desert. It was excellent. It was also a lot of food which we couldn't finish. Bar serviceWe went to the elite cocktail party every afternoon with our group of friends. After the 1st night our waiter Ansel had a table set up for our group and our drinks were waiting on the table. We did not buy many drinks on this cruise. We drank all we needed to at the elite party. We tipped our waiter well.EntertainmentThis is our thing on a cruise. We go to every show. The entertainment on this ship was very good. The production shows were the best we have seen on a ship. "The Land of Make Believe was amazing. The vocalists were excellent and so were the dancers. The acrobats were amazing. There were 2 other vocalists, 2 comedians and a violinist that did shows. The violinist was excellent receiving a standing ovation after both performances. The acapella group Lemon Squeezy were great. They performed at times when we were at dinner so we didn't see them much. They did one late night show at 10:30 in the sky lounge which was excellent. The celebrity orchestra was good. Their pianist had to leave the ship because of a family emergency and this limited their performances. The string group made up of 4 women were also good. The party band momentum was excellent. We also enjoyed Carl Williams in the Rendevous for dancing several evenings. This was our 1st time to see Perry Grant and we loved him. We went to the 7 pm show and then at 7:45 went to Michael's Club for Perry's Show. I was called up several nights to assist Perry and thoroughly enjoyed it. He is very funny and very talented as a pianist and singer. Many people went to both his shows every night. The cruise director Sue Denning was great. She was all over the ship from early morning to late evening. She always went out of her way to greet everyone she met. Her one woman show was also quite good. ServiceGreat on this ship. Everyone from the Captain to the crew members went out of their way to greet everyone. The officers attended most events on the ship. Several came every day to the elite cocktail party. They walked around talking to people and asking their opinions on the ship. The Captain came to our table in Ocean Liners and asked if we were enjoying ourselves.PortsThere were 8 ports on this cruise. We had been to most of them. We didn't take any tours. In St. Marten, we took a taxi $16 each way to Maho Beach. It was quite windy and rained a little but we really enjoyed the planes landing over our heads. Antigua: We walked into town and just walked around. St. Lucia: We walked into town and went to a craft market. The taxi drivers here followed us down the street trying to get us to take a tour but we elected not to. Barbados: We took a van taxi to downtown Barbados for $4 each way. We walked around for a while. It poured rain and we went back to the ship. Grenada: we took the water taxi $16 round trip to Grand Anse Beach. We paid $10 for 2 chairs and an umbrella. We really enjoyed this. Aruba: Waled to town and shopped for a while. Went to a craft market here. It was very hot. Curacao: Waled to town. Did some shopping here. Waled to the swinging bridge. This is a beautiful town with pastel colored buildings. We really enjoyed this stop. Bonnaire: We were the last ship in this season. Many shops had discounts because of this. We really enjoyed this island but Celebrity will not be going back next year.We also enjoyed the sea days. Dw enjoyed sitting by the pool and reading. I attended some lecture which were ok. Dw complained about the chair hogs on this cruise. By 9 in the mornings all the chairs in the shade were taken. Some people were gone for 3 hours without sitting in the chair. Disembarkation:We did the self walk off. We were some of the 1st off. Went through customs, got a taxi ($11.70) and were ate the airport by 8:15. We had to wait to check our bag, because we were more than 3 hours before out flight. There were short security lines at this time. Our flight was at 11:27 and we actually left early.
