A little about ourselves - I am 53 and this was my 20th cruise. My SO (significant other) or my ISO (insignificant other - depending on when you ask...) is 57 and this is his 16th cruise. This was our 2nd Celebrity cruise and we were a little concerned that this would be the senior citizen cruise (the last Celebrity we took, we were surrounded by the very elderly and those that just acted like they were very elderly)and would like to say that this was not the case. A terrific group of passengers - I would say the average was 40-60 years of age, however all ages were present.
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, spent the day with family that lives down there and spent the night at the Comfort Inn. Clean, convenient and breakfast the next morning. Took their shuttle ($5pp)to the port. They left promptly at 11am from the hotel.
Embarkation was the easiest we have ever experienced - left hotel at 11, on ship by 11:45. Didn't even need to sit down and wait, got in line, got checked in and walked right onto the ship, greeted with Champagne and Mimosas. Had lunch at Bistro on 5 ($5 cover charge - well worth it!), explored a little and was able to go to our stateroom a little before 2:00.
