We are veteran cruisers and looked forward to cruising the southern caribbean ports ,places we have never seen.

The ship:the layout is similar to all Carnival ships, food quality to amenities. What subtle changes we noticed were the longer wait times in the food lines and less wait staff to clean up the myriad of food plates left behind on the Lido.Inconsistent service in the dining room ,food was served without the accompanyments ( ice tea ,without sugar) Requests were met slowly and inefficiently. I dont usually complain and take things in stride but after the first day it seemed to get worse. When the maitre d rounded and asked how the service was, I told her I felt it was inconsistent and gave her examples. She said she would personally make sure that we were taken care of and appreciated the constructive critcism .I think there are less wait staff in all. I wouldnt say it got better, some days were better than others and perhaps it was because we chose "your time dining" instead of fixed seating. The cleanliness was ok, not superior as in years past (dust visible on rails in dining room ,soiled bathrooms ,no soap in suites, food left behind on tables ,tray lines ,sticky tables ,etc)

The rooms were ok ,the beds are hard. Standard fare.
