Enjoyed the cruise - our main reason for going was to give the grandkids a taste of Asia. Should have just paid for them to go on the cruise - and we stay home. They hit the arcade on the first night - fantastic arcade for kids. Met up with other teens - joined the teen club - then we hardly saw them for the week. In their opinion - and ours - the teen club was the best thing for them on the cruise. They made lots of friends - did lots of things - stayed up late - disco until the early hours - late night feast - late night swims - they all even tried a "sleep out" on the pool deck - but that ended around 2.00 am. They all met up for breakfast on the last morning in the MDR - exchanged Face book details (whatever that is) they all had a ball. We have done the straits of malacca three times - so we weren't too bothered if they didn't want to get off the ship. They wanted to stay onboard - so paid a token gesture to the shore trips - and wanted to get back on board in case they were missing anything. We did the elephant ride in Phuket with kokchangi tours - and it was great - they were waiting for us at Patong Beach and we asked them to drop us back at karon beach - and had a fantastic day. I would recommend kokchangi anytime. The ship.Thought the ship was fantastic - service excellent - food bland and average - but I must say - if there was nothing on the menu that you wanted - they would get you something else - nothing was too much trouble. Water is available - you only have to ask the waiter - and he brings iced water for you - he pours it - he doesn't leave the jug with you. On gala night they did a wine special - two bottles for 19 Euro's. We aren't wine drinkers - so had bar waiter service - and it was happy hour - so two for one. Happy hour was 5.30 to 8.00 most nights. The buffet was only open one night. That's a downside for me - but that's how it is.You can only have draught beer in the 2 for 1 happy hour, premium drinks and cocktails. Not all drinks are included - only the one's mentioned. There is a 11.00 to 12.00 happy hour as well.Cannot fault the ship at all - staff - ship - all superb.CabinGreat - except for the air conditioner. I informed guest services when we boarded - around 2.00 pm. Sweat was rolling down us. Rang a couple more times -they came and had a look around 5.30pm. By this time - I was not amused. There appeared to be a big problem with an air conditioning unit that serviced decks 4, 5, 6 and 7 all the outside cabins on one side. We were on the inside - deck 4. The technician came - got in the roof space checked ours - which was turned off up there - he doesn't know why - but he fixed it. We then got a call from guest services who offered us TWO cabins further up the deck. I told them everything was good - all fixed - but they said if it goes off again - to contact them at any time and they would move us - the cabins would be available for us. They followed up every day with a call to check everything was ok. I call that service. The air conditioning wasn't too smart.in general The disco/quiet room at the very top of the ship deck 14 was the coolest and best for aircon.Didn't do the shows - been on a Costa ship before and weren't overly enamoured with them. Enjoyed our time in the Navona Bar. We knew the drinks were expensive - but used the happy hour to accommodate the expense. (Two for one). Boys and Girls card was the best drinks package for the boys. Value for money.I would certainly travel Costa again - and for teens - it's just the best.Value for money?...........absolutely.Did our own shore excursions except for Kuala Lumpur - we took Costa tour "KL on your own"
