My husband and I took this cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the first time the two of us had gone away together for more than a night or two since our marriage(no honeymoon, either!!), so we were looking forward to this! The embarkation was quick and easy. The debarkation was kind of a pain. We ended up having a late time and they were running behind, so we spent a lot of time waiting around with a huge crowd of people. Next time, we'll do the early debarkation and carry off our luggage! The cabin was wonderful. Plenty of closet/storage space for us. Our steward came right away and introduced himself and we never had to ask for a thing, it was all taken care of before we could even think of it. On the 2nd day we got to our cabin and there was a bottle of champagne on ice for us with a note saying it was compliments of guest services for our anniversary. WOW! That was wonderful. We took it out on our balcony and enjoy it together. The dining room was good, service seemed a bit lax, but with so many people, I can be patient. The Windjammer is usually very crowded so we ended up going other places for lunch/breakfast. We enjoyed the Solarium Bistro for breakfast most mornings as it had healthier alternatives, such as fruite, granola and turkey bacon/sausage. We did the Blackbeard's Cay excursion (just the beach, not the rays) in Nassau and it was just the right amount of time for us. I loved watching the turquoise water as our boat took us there. St. Thomas, we just got off and hit a few shops right there and then went back on the ship. We wanted the quiet of having very few people on the ship with us. St. Maarten, took a water taxi to the beach/town. It let us off right at a small beach and we wandered down the beach and then wandered a few shops and went back to the ship to enjoy the quiet time again. The shows were great. Make your reservations online before going, though or you risk not getting a seat. The same goes for specialy dinner areas, too.Our biggest issue was the staff in the bars. We went into one bar to get a drink and there were two bartenders behind the bar. Both of them were leaning against the counter and neither one of them made a move to help us. We finally asked them if we could get a drink. They looked at each other and then one of them just walked out. The other one made a face and said "what do you want?" Very rude. The bar staff in other bars were also not very friendly.Overall, it was a great trip for us. Would we go on this ship again? YES! We were afraid it would be too big, but we didn't really notice the crowds as there are so many places for the people to be. Our next cruise will be on the Allure of the Seas (gotta try it, too!) and we'll be doing a back-to-back cruise. Can't wait!
