The NCL Sun was beautifully redone from previous travels on her. The arragnement of some of the different floors was somewhat confusing that you had to go either up of or down to get to the front or back of the ship. Not easy for elderly not navy oriented individuals.Having traveled to this part of the Carribean before, we elected not to partake of the on shore excursions offered as they are quite pricey. Instead, one of the members of our group did a little research ahead of time and found out what we could do on or own and sign us up for a private small bus in St. Maarten and in St.Thomas. In Nasseau we each went our own way. In St. Maarten , if you want a truly wonderful personal guide for the day, look on the ine=ternet for Joyce Prince Tours. She is fantastic!!! In St. Thomas go to Cokie Beach. It is a little crowded, but there is and aquarium and many things for the kids to do. Take your own cab or mini bus and tell him when you would like to be picked up. They will be ther exactly when you tell them. When you get to Coki Beach, be prepared to pay for your chairs and umbrella, if you want them. They are a little pricey also. The ships food is good but not outstanding. Preferred the Seven Seas dining room on the stern rather than the dining room at the midships. The 11th deck ( used to be called the Lido deck) buffet was as usual with some changes each day for breakfast and lunch, but always had burgers and fies in the pool area and pizza in the very back deck area. Only prroblem with the buffet line is that they have put the "ice cream" station right at the beginning of the salad bar line and if you don't know that then some stand there for about 15 minutes thinking they are in line for the buffet until they get to the point that they see they are actually waiting on ice cream and hve to then go around them. Very POOR set up there. Ship is very clean and the room steward very atttentive, But you must ask for extra towels if you have three in the room and they don't change them as regularly as other ships unless you relly so throw them on the floor.I think NCL did themelves a disservice by getting rid of their contract with whomever was doing their nightly stage shows/productions. They were not nearly up to par with what they used to have and not up to par with what other cruise ships have. Their Cruise director is very good but their show (dance and singing) staff leave much to be desired. They have fallen down on this part of the cruide experience tremendously.Other than the obvious things I have pointed out, It was a great cruise with old and new friends.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OG

cabin # 4011 With the arrangement of the bed, it is too small to have the sofa pulled out for a third person. When the sofa bed is pulled out, it is virtually impossible to get to the bathroom at night (or any other time that is is out) with out either walking on top of the sofa bed or killing yourself trying to get around it. It should not be classed as a three person room. It is dangerous as a 3 person room. Only bigger cabins should have pullout sofa beds and small cabins, if they are to be 3 person cabins, should have a drop-down bed.
