We cruised the Voyager of the Seas April 17-April 24, 2011. It was myself, husband, 8 year old son and my husband's mom. We were celebrating our 13th Anniversary during this week and were looking forward to a relaxng week. We had two cabins, 7688 and 7690. 7688 is without a doubt one of the best cabins on the VOTS. Arrived at Port about 11:30. We boarded Sunday very quickly. I had packed 4 small bottles of Dt. Dr P and they took them out of my carry on. RCCL person said they would be in our room that night but that was not true. We did not see them again til the last night of the cruise. Don't take any drinks or water on board. You will not be able to have it.After that, we went straight in line to check-in, got keys and were on board by noon. We headed straight for the Windjammer and lunch opened right at noon. We had a casual lunch that was terrific and headed to our rooms at 1. Like I said before, our cabin 7688 and the other cabin 7690 were great because of the balconies. Too bad we were not able to use them much the first 3 days because of a black water problem that started Sunday before we left. They worked on the lines until Wednesday and the HORRIBLE smell finally went away.We had a FANTASTIC dining room crew. Our waiter was Ariel, assisted by George and the head waiter was Fahti ("Mr. Fabulous"). They were without a doubt, the BEST servers we have had on any cruise. The dining room food was fabulous and way better than Carnival. Our cabin steward was Britto. He was very accomodating and would get us anything we asked for. Our son fell in love with room service that week. Room Service was prompt, polite and delicios, so says the 8 year old! :) Our port stops made for a nice break away from the chaotic children on board. In Belize, we used Nacho and Cynthia for cave tubing. This was super! In Roatan, we ziplined at Victor Bodden's and at Cozumel, we had a beach day at Mr. Sanchos. My son did go to Adventure Ocean 4 or 5 times and seemed to really enjoy it. He would always look over the schedule and decide if he wanted to go or not. He went mostly at night after dinner so that gave us time to see shows and still pick him up before 10 pm.The first day at sea, our "relaxing week" was shot to "you-know-where" due to the massive number of unruly, unsupervised, rude children on board. Apparently the week before Easter and after Easter is Mexico Spring Break. There were over 1300 foreign nationals on this cruise, most of them from Mexico. There were so many children running around, playing in elevators, all with no supervision. The parents of these children were NEVER around and I mean NEVER!!! Many people complained to Guest Services but to no avail. Only one time on the first day did we hear a general announcement to all parents on board to please supervise your children. That announcement should have been made daily! Many of these children were so loud in the whirlpool on deck 11 that the Pool Deck patrol had to ask them several times to be quiet because there was so much screaming. Once again, no parents! The last night on board we were getting ready for dinner about 5:30 or so. Kept hearing someone trying to open the door lock. I opened the door to find about 10 Mexican children (6-9 yrs old in age) sitting on the floor outside both our cabins putting their room keys in and out of our door lock and turning the handle as if they were trying to come in. I hurried them away, only to have them come back close to our cabins as we left for dinner, follow us down the hallway and laugh at us as I told them how much I disapproved of them trying to access our cabin. SO RUDE!!! And again, not a parent in sight!!!Moral of the story is this: DO NOT SAIL ANY SHIPS FROM GALVESTON THE WEEK BEFORE AND AFTER EASTER. Mexican Spring Break will overwhelm you. This was our first time on RCCL and my husband was so disgusted by the lack of effort on RCCL's part to control the kids that I doubt we will ever sail RCCL again.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

7688 is the BEST balcony on the ship. Huge wraparound balcony. Had 4 loungers and 2 tables out there. Perfect place to relax, read and rest!
