We have just returned from a week's Mediterranean Medley cruise on the Thomson Dream, our first ever cruise. We had a fantastic time. The crew of the ship, in all respects, cannot be faulted as they are friendly, polite and extremely hard working. The ship is spotlessly clean and constantly being cleaned. We dined in the Orion Restaurant on deck 4 every day for breakfast and dinner. The food was fantastic with a great deal of choice. The service was outstanding - we sat at table 135 with Iing and Bernard serving us, who were friendly and efficient throughout but we're sure that other waiting staff were equally pleasant and hard working. The cabin that we had on deck 7 was lovely, much larger than we had expected and spotlessly clean. Ananti looked after us and our cabin efficiently and was friendly throughout. The entertainment provided throughout the day and evenings, until the early hours, was excellent and the shows in the Broadway show lounge are of outstanding quality. How the team manage to put on a different show every night for a fortnight I have no idea. (Get your seats early though). The age range of the people on board was diverse and there was entertainment for everyone. We enjoyed our ports of call, having booked tours for most days, except Barcelona where we'd been before. We had good weather at all but the last port, so we were lucky and this certainly added to our enjoyment. Our favourite port was Calvi, on Corsica, where we enjoyed a walking tour to find out about the history and then had a lovely restful afternoon on the beach of fine, golden sand. Florence and Pisa was a good trip and whilst we liked Port Grimaud and St. Tropez we had a bit too long at St. Tropez for us to fill. However,if you were prepared to spend money and time in one of the restaurants lining the port side you would fill the time well.We were concerned about what we'd find on the Thomson Dream, having seen the bad reports but we went with open minds and were not at all disappointed. We would certainly book to go on the Dream again.
