This is my 11th cruise. We sail RCCL and Celebrity, but have tried Princess and HAL once. Royal Caribbean hit it our of the ball park with Oasis. Best and fastest embarkation and debarkation. We carried off our own luggage and it took less than 12 minutes! The ENTERTAINMENT was top notch. The full length production of "Hairspray" was as good as any Broadway Production and much better than the usual song and dance shows on other ships. Of course the Ice Show was spectacular. The "Oasis of Dreams" show in the Aqua Theater is not to be missed with it's combination of high diving, synchronized swimming, acrobatics, fountains, music and dance. I liked making reservations in advance for shows. I would highly suggest everyone MAKE ADVANCE SHOW RESERVATIONS ONLINE and arrive at shows at least 20 minutes before show time. The FOOD was pretty good. We very much enjoyed our experience in the main dining room. The lobster tail on formal night was the biggest I have ever seen on a cruise. Our table was a bit crowded for seven people but our waiters Fidel and Rhodondra made up for it with great service. The buffet was fine and a good place for a quick bite. We really liked Central Park Cafe on deck 8, in Central Park. Breakfast burritos, paninis, bagels and pastries at breakfast and soup, sandwiches and salads for lunch, hit the spot. You must try the hot roast beef sandwich here, it so tender and good. We also dined at Giovanni's Table for dinner and it was delicious. What made it even better was our waiter, Cosmo, who regaled us with tails of his life in Romania. The SPA was terrific. My husband and I bought a package that included the Thermal Suite for 7 days and a bathing and rasul ritual. The heated beds in the thermal suite were so soothing after a workout. The SHIP was the star of this vacation. Our cabin was on deck 8 where Central Park is located. It was a quiet and a relaxing place to have a night cap. The Boardwalk was fun with it's donut shop, ice cream parlor, Johnny Rockets and carousel. Pets at Sea will run you $32 for an animal and one outfit. (Like Build a Bear). There were 5700 people, and many many children, on our sailing but I never felt it was crowded. This was a family cruise week because of Easter vacations. We all enjoyed the Solarium Pool area with its panoramic views. SUGGESTIONS for those going on Oasis. Get on the RCCL website before you cruise and SIGN UP FOR SHOWS ONLINE. I put a mailing label with our show times, printed in small font, on the back of our sea passes, between the bar codes. That way, we all knew when specialty dining and shows were. IF YOU WANT TO ZIP LINE, ICE SKATE, FLOW RIDE OR ROCK CLIMB, SIGN WAVIERS ONLINE. If you don't sign waivers in advance you will have to go to guest services on board. On our WESTERN CARIBBEAN sailing, FORMAL NIGHTS WERE ON SUNDAY AND WEDNESDAY,both sea days.
