From the Express Check-In to drinking a glass of champagne on board the ship took less than five minutes. All staterooms were made available at 1:30 p.m. My cabin was readied as promoted with a bottle of champagne, a bowl of fruit, and a small vase of fresh flowers. From that point onward, the cruise was everything advertised and more. Dining, activities, shore excursions, and crew attention were excellent. The food and service in Blu was exceptional. I dined two evenings in the main dining room. The food there was very good; and had I not been dining in Blu would have been more than happy with the many choices and the quality of the meals. Blu had a very limited but exceptional menu.Foodies would appreciate this choice. Anyone with food "issues" should stay in the regular dining room. The activities were many and varied. There was everything from the Corning Glass shows to putting contests on the green. The pools were both outdoor-exposed and covered-but-sunny with solar shingle panels that kept the area cooler on hot days and warmer on cool days. The stage entertainment was not Disney quality but it was more than acceptable. An all-female string quartet, female vocalist, an acappella group, a comedian, a small band etc. all provided good choices for listening, participating in comedy sketches, dancing, or singing along. The shore excursions seemed many and varied too. I only chose to do the Champagne Cat Cruise to St. John's. It was a wonderful ride to a white sand beach for snorkeling and swimming. The crew was professional yet knew how to be humorous and relaxed. The crew on board ship was most courteous, without being solicitous. Their training must be exceptional; especially when considering the number of nationalities represented in their numbers.A crew is only as good as it's captain, so kudos to Captain Gerry. The cruise director, Lisa, also was a good leader. She seemed to add offerings when requested by guests. Several guests commented upon these accommodations. Everyone from my wonderful cabin attendant to the pool attendants, provided excellent service. One big compliment to Celebrity for atmosphere........THANK YOU for making only one or two short announcements a day and making the focus on our location, special activities, and the weather. No hard sale pitches here; unlike on other cruises. If I wanted to go to a "sales pitch", the offering was printed in the daily guide. Take it-or leave it. This is the main reason why I will be back on another Celebrity Cruise;in fact, Celebrity is my choice from now on.This ship is wonderful for the more sedate crowd.:-}} This is not for spring breakers. I also did not see many children. The few young ones were very well behaved but I wonder how those parents felt given there were so few families on board. For me, it was delightful to see them. It's always nice to have that age range. I also saw only a few teenagers. I wonder how they felt about the cruise. Many of the older people seemed to have hearing issues. Television remote controls did not have closed caption or sleep timer buttons. This creates a little noise problem between cabins. At the glass shows, outdoor activities etc. perhaps having the activities person wear a mike connected to amplifier boxes that could be rented by the guests, would improve the experience for these individuals. My experience could not have been better! There was so much to do and so little time......I will be back.
