I considered myself and my husband seasoned cruisers and travelers... For this cruise we took along my mom (1st time cruise) and my 3 year old daughter..It was a breeze getting on the ship from the NY Cruise Terminal...We arrived 12 Noon and were on the ship by 12:15 and having lunch in the dining room by 12:30...This was a Nickolodeon themed cruise and it was great for kids. The activities were endless and there was always something going on. For those passengers traveling without kids, the Nick themed events were not in your face so you can avoid them if you wanted to :)There were passengers without children complaining about all the kids, but seriously why would you book a cruise during spring break on about advertising Spongebob and Dora!!I normally do not like to eat in the buffett, but I have to say this was one of the best buffets I have seen on a ship, it had a lot of variety and was constantly changing. Main Dining Rooms - I found the food to be just ok... not bad but nothing to write home about. Also was not a great selection, so we ate at the specialty restaurants 5 out of the 7 nights. Teppanaki - Japanese HibatchiAwesome!! Totally worth the $25It was as good as any hibatchi restaurant I have eaten at on land..we went there twice!!Cagneys Steakhouse Good, I have had better on other ships with Specialty SteakhousesChin Chin - Asian FusionAwesome!! If you have eaten at PF Changs you will love this place..menu us almost identical..Mamas - ItalianDont waste your $$$ it was a glorified Olive Garden!!Blue Lagoon (free restaurants)Had great sandwiches, wings, mozzarella sticks and dessert if you were in the tmood for a snack. As for the ports - Cape Canaveral We just took a shuttle to cocoa beach (we were just in orlando a few months ago)If you forgot any neccesities the shuttle also stops at Walmart..GSC NCL IslandAwesome, The crew did an amazing job at making everyone comfortable there, the food was great..not just boring hamburgers and hot dogs. NassauBeen there so many times, not much going on except shopping and be haggled with all the locals or going to Atlantis. If you are not purchasing am Atlantis exscuriosn for upward of $149 per person!!! be prepared to do nothing at Atlantis..every door is armed with security and basically all you can do is spend $$$ in the Casino and Shops. The ship was in great condition and well maintained, the crew was always cleaning. everyone was very friendly. Spa was great also, but the specials get better as the week goes on so dont book as soon as you get on. The was an awesome trip for a family with kids. My daughter loved it and was never bored!! They even had a kids only Jacuzzi..The only negative leaving from NY (I am born and raised here) is the passengers are just down right rude!!! It is so stereotypical but sadly true. Be prepared to be shoved and trampled on to get on the elevator or get food in the buffett... I actually asked a passanger in the Theater if she would mind moving down 1 seat so I can sit with my family and she just told me NO!! Can you imagine. I witnessed brawls at the pool.. over reserved chairs etc.. Relax people you are on vacation!!!
