We had such a great experience with Princess! Our cabin steward was fantastic. Our waiter could not have been better. We did late seating dining room for dinners and absolutely loved our table mates! Cruise was wonderful even though the seas were kind of rough and weather stayed pretty cool. The Hawaii islands were beautiful and we did our own excursions. We looked through what was offered off the boat and used Cruise Critics to verify other people's experiences. We used Ricky's tours in Hilo... really a good experience. We used Alex in Kauai and loved it! In Maui we did the boat with the glass windows.. not too good. Didn't see much and it was pretty hard to see through the glass. It was not clear windows, lots of scratches and really not much to see. The woman that booked the trip for us on the doc complained about the cruise ship passengers "screwing" up their day. She wasn't at all appreciative of the business they brought to her. In Honolulu we took a city bus to the beach and then did some shopping. Really nice day. $2.00 for the bus ride and the drivers were wonderful about letting us know where to get off and what bus to take to get back to the port. A really inexpensive day. We enjoyed the days a sea very much. I brought several books and honestly did not even get to crack one of them open. We took lots of walks on the deck and really enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I think this was the best of our 6 cruises and can't wait to go back and do Hawaii again!
