We started in San Juan for a night after a short and uneventful flight from orlando, this is my 1st cruise so I have little to compare it to previously, just alot of internet research and word of mouth, my wfe cruised about 10 years ago on Disney and it wasn't exceptionally memorable for her, we wanted a long cruise w/ interesting port and we certainly got that.-we taxied to the cruise ship port after a fun night and day in OSJ, the forts were really nice and the restaurants and shopping were interesting, tons of photo ops here-getting on the ship was ultra easy, we got on at approx 2pm and could go right to our room, we were in 3002, a oceanview room near the bow, it was quiet and no issues with it, a few toilet flushing issues but thats it, our attendant was excellent and we got the requisite towel animal all week, we also got presents so to speak for our honeymoon and wife's bday which coincided. categorically speaking though i'll break it down this was til we get to the ports:food: was good albeit not overly memorable I cant exactly put my finger on it why but I cant say I was ever overwhelmed, the windjammer was nice and we seldom had trouble finding seats, as was regular dining and Chops was excellent for a single night, not one specific dish was uber-amazing but all especially desserts were pretty solid, highlight: ny strip at chops, soft serve icecream at the windjammer.Fitness center/Spa: we took a yoga class and oddly it was just wife and i, nice facilities if you have the time and want, check them out. the service: good everywhere really, if i cant think of an instance where it wasnt appropriate thats a good thing, waiters at the bars were all very good...some of the bartenders seemed to go off the reservation a bit on a few things but overall quite goodcleanliness: very clean, bathrooms all well appointed, again no complaints...room service was picked up from halls very quickly. entertainment: only saw 1 production show the broadway revue which was ok, heard many of the other shows were meh, but Ricky the cruise director and his staff always had lots of events, we played a bunch of trivia, tried very had to win the "quest" which was a riot, saw alot of themed dance nights and karaoke, something for everyone...really EVERYONEwe met some amazing new friends on the boat and had an actual cruise bar crawl which turned into quite a bender but ultimately our time on the ship was extremely fun, there werent a ton of kids but the ones we saw always seemed like they had a ton to do, we never felt really crowded, rarely had to wait for anything, drinks, bathroom, even generally found pool chairs and spots in the hottubs reasonably easy. getting off the boat was really easy (albeit sad) 10 minutes through customs and we were unfortunately in a cab back to the airport. the cons: I have are few but worth noting, the hard sell on all the shipboard picture taking was somewhat annoying, although we did buy a few all the disembarkation photo ops at the ports were borderline hokey? giant plush turtle in barbados? cmon now. also I thought there handling of a weather situation in st. kitts where they actually lost a couple ropes due to high winds was a bit odd....as has been mentioned before, the main outside pool needs a paint job.
