This was our 4Th Cruise with Celebrity, our third on the Century. We Flew into Miami airport the day before or cruise on American Airlines. We spent the night at The Miami Airport Embassy Suites. We highly recommend this hotel, it is always clean, has a great pool area, evening reception with snacks and free drinks and a full breakfast in the morning. We have stayed here several times in the past and always come back. The next morning after breakfast we took the hotel shuttle to the Port of Miami, about a 30 minute ride. When we arrived at the port @ 11:30 our luggage was taken immediately and we were directed to the correct terminal. Much to our surprise we had to wait outside in line for approximately 20 minutes before being allowed into the terminal (This has not been an issue in the past). Once inside the terminal we were told that they were having to spend extra time getting the ship prepared due to a charter group that had been on the ship and had really "made a mess of things". Once inside the terminal we were directed to the check in area, that process went very quickly, we then were directed to a seating area to wait until the ship was ready to board. By 12:30 we were allowed to board the ship.It had been 8 years since our last Cruise on the Century and she is still as beautiful as ever. This ship will allow you to have personalized attention from the staff. It is not so large that you become a number, you remain a person with a name. We were greeted with Champagne and smiles from the staff, eager to assist in what ever way needed. Our Cabin was not yet ready to view, so we were directed to Deck 11 for a lunch buffet. At this point I want to say that the food was well prepared, it is presented very nicely and the correct temperature. We did not feel like we were being herded in, there was plenty of room, no shoving and plenty of staff to assist if needed in finding a seat or to carry your tray.Shortly after 1:30 Our cabins were ready. We had a Sky Suite, there was plenty of storage area, the bathroom was good size with a jetted tub/shower. We had a large balcony with table and chairs and two lounge chairs. The room is spacious with plenty of lighting, a double bed, sofa and chair. Our Cabin attendant was readily available to ask if we had any special requests. With the Sky Suite also comes a Butler. He was at our service 24 hours a day with what ever we may need/want. We had fresh flowers and fruit in our cabin daily. We requested Breakfast in our room on Day One, it was served by our Butler, on linen table cloth and napkins, china and wonderful service. We were also served Afternoon Tea everyday in our Cabin by our Butler, Wilfred. We are Elite members with Celebrity (due to our Diamond Plus status with Royal Caribbean) and with this status comes added benefits. We had early seating in the dining room, and were seated at a table for 6, we had not made a specific request for a table size prior to the cruise but were very pleased with the outcome. We met 2 wonderful couples, shared many stories, wonderful food and exceptional service by our wait staff. We did not do any shore excursions on this trip. Having sailed 52 times we have been to Cozumel numerous times and chose this trip to just go downtown and walk around,do some shopping and sample some food. We had never docked in Roatan before this cruise and would highly recommend a tour or excursion. One of the highlights of our trip was having dinner at the Captains Table, The Captain was a very gracious host and once again we met some very interesting co-cruisers. One couple in particular who invited us to join them in their suite for a get acquainted party with other guests. The pool area was crowded on sea days, so would recommend getting there early if you want to get a chair close to the pool. The entertainment was very good, your usual cruise shows, but the entertainers were very talented and energetic and put their all into their performance.Debarkation was very easy, the ship was cleared, we had breakfast in the dining room, on leaving the ship once again the staff was available to answer questions and help when needed. Our luggage was waiting for us on the pier, we cleared customs quickly and shared a cab to the airport with 2 of our new-found friends. In Summary, I think you will find with Celebrity Cruises, you will receive personalized attention and service, wonderful food, great entertainment and meet wonderful people to share the experience with. We always say Celebrity is a step above and goes the extra mile to make you feel special and make your vacation a great experience!
