Sail Date: Apr 2011
Cabin: Sky Suite 1

We were booked on the April 2nd sailing out of San Juan. We had come into Puerto Rico a few days early. We spent two days at the El Conquistador, about an hour out of town. The Arthur Hills Golf Course is spectacular, but the resort is very noisy. We changed for the last night to the Ritz Carlton, about a ten minute taxi from the ship. It was fantastic, but very expensive.Embarkation: We arrived at the pier at 12:30pm and were on the ship at 1:00pm. There was a little confusion checking luggage, due to poor signage, but once that was done it was easy. The staff was friendly helpful and made the experience painless. Cabin: We were booked in a sky suite. It was clean and large, as you would expect. The carpeting was stained and old and should have been replaced, but other than that, it was fine. The cabin staff did an excellent job. Since we had a suite, we had a butler. We took advantage of that fact and it enhanced our experience. We had breakfast every day n the veranda, served at a table cloth covered table. Every afternoon we had drinks and appetizers brought to our suite. I would highly recommend this way of traveling, since it makes the most of your experience.Food: We, as we always do, divided our time between, the Normandie Restaurant and the Cosmopolitan Restaurant-second seating (Table 424 for set for 2 people as requested. We did it every other night between the two. Both were very good. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was fine. We have been on almost 40 cruises and know what to expect. We got very good everything for the money.Liquor and lounges: They all make a good drink and there are plenty of places on which to partake. Being a cigar smoker, Celebrity has two locations, outside, very comfortable, where you can smoke, have a drink and meet some nice fellow passengers. It was more than adequate.Shows: We only saw 3 shows. Being 2nd seating, there was either a time conflict or they were scheduled so late that it did not seem worth the trouble. However, they had three nights when the second seating show was at 7:00pm and we were able to see some very good entertainers. My only comment is that we sat in the balcony and they never sent a server up there to take drink orders.Disembarking: The best I've ever experienced. We left the ship at 8:10am, found all 4 pieces of luggage together and were out the door with red cap help and easy access to a taxi and at the airport and thru security by 9:00am.Ports of Call: Being a golfer I will talk about that below.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Cabin S1

6102 Not a lot of privacy as it butts up to a full glass suite which jutes out and our balcony could be viewed from the above floor as well as the floor next to us. Carpeting needs replacement. Good closet space. Lots of room. Deep tub and a screwy show system. Refrigerator not very cold. Everything else is fine.
