This Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand Costa cruise was billed as 3-star, but often delivered above that level - particularly in the quality of food and the service levels from staff. The cabin was spacious, the bed comfortable and our porthole huge.Itinerary was generally good, apart from Kuantan and Port Klang, but the ship's excursions were expensive. We bought the comprehensive day tour of Singapore which included lunch at Raffles, and I would strongly recommend this great experience. At all the other destinations we did our own thing much more cheaply by taxi. The taxi drivers ask silly money, but sooner or later one breaks ranks and the fares drop dramatically.Drink prices on board were expensive on first sight, however happy hour was pretty cheap and the wine/water package deal made a daily bottle acceptably priced. Joining Costa Club brought price benefits too. Highlights? Langkawi mangrove tour was outstanding - taxi for 4 (3hrs) cost US$30. Walk around Georgetown (Penang) heritage area was fascinating. The beaches at Phuket were great. Pattaya old town red light area was a much cheaper alternative to the slog to Bangkok. At Koh Samui the taxi tour for 4 (4hrs) cost US$80, taking in beaches and waterfall. The Malacca river trip cost £2 each and was top value. Some people found things to grumble about, but I say get a life. It was all great fun for us and the friends we made on the trip.

Cabin Review

Cabin E1

Spacious cabin, big porthole for good view, comfortable bed, good flatscreen TV, adequate electrical sockets, very good mirror lighting in bathroom.
