Just back from a wonderful 7 days onboard the beautiful Ruby Princess. This was our 8th Princess cruise, 2nd on the Ruby, with about 30 additional cruises on other lines. Consistent excellence keeps bringing us back and this trip was no exception. We found the ship to be in terrific condition and it appeared to us that additional staff had been added. There was always a staff member close by, especially in the buffet area where the plates and tables were cleaned instantly. Coffee and drinks were also brought within a minute or so. We learned that staff had not been added, however, the scheduling was moved to provide more help- it's working. We also noticed the cleanliness all around the ship- someone was always wiping areas down and there was not a speck of dirt anywhere. Our cabin steward was about the best we've ever had-he knew our schedule and the room was immaculate with zero interruptions. Ports of call were standard Eastern Caribbean- for us the ship was the destination and we made great use of the facilities especially the Sanctuary, an adults only retreat near the spa pool. Well worth the small extra cost. I also enjoyed a port spa special while everyone else rushed off the ship.We particularly appreciate Princess's passenger loyalty program. As platinum members we had access to express check-in, a nightly lounge only for platinum and suite guests, free internet for 150 minutes, and a quiet departure lounge. Other cruise lines should take note of these perks that take much longer to accrue on their ships. All-in-all, this was a perfect escape and we are already looking forward to next year in which we've re-booked the Ruby, same cabin, same itinerary!
