Sail Date: Mar 2011

Just returned from an excellent repositoning cruise on The Thomson Celebration. We cruised from Barcelona where the ship came back into service following a three week dry dock in Gibraltar where work was done on the engineering side rather than the fabric. Our itinerary was Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Naples, Messina, Valletta, Agios Nickolaos, Alexandria, Port Said, Ashdod, Limassol.Everything was just as we would have wanted-Good Food, Good Weather, Good Friendships. A happy ship where nothing was too much trouble and everyone worked tremendously hard to give us a good holiday.Transfers were good, Trips were varied although whilst in Naples we would have liked an organised trip to Capri but nothing daunted we did it ourselves.Itinerary at times looked as if it might have to be changed due to current Middle -east/Arab country troubles but everything went ahead as planned. Jerusalem and Bethlehem trip was subject to Israel's extreme security but that was an experience in itself. This was our seventh Thomson Cruise and we certainly will be back.

Cabin Review

Cabin 817 had featured on someone else's review as being dirty and noisy but we certainly did not find that.

We found it to be more spacious that 696 and 901 our previous cabins although they weren't small.

It had the same queen size bed etc but was wider rather than elongated due to the ship's profile. This meant that the bed was actually nearer the corridor but his was a quiet part of the ship so that was fine. Situated close to lift that takes you right to Explorer's lounge, The Cinema and to Horizon Bar.
