Two couples, 1st timers. We were told the Valor would be a good ship for 1st timers and as far as we were concerned it was. Lovely ship, clean, fairly easy to navigate.Got to cruise terminal at noon and we were on the ship by 1:30, had lunch and our cabin was ready by 2:00The food was excellent,we tried the mongolian, the deli and the main buffet and there was always a good selection. The MDR was exceptional, Lucas and Jose were great and every meal was good right from the appitizer to the decadent desserts (TRY THE CHOCOLATE MELTING CAKE!!!!)We went to Scarletts on the last night and it was one of the best meals I've ever had, the service superb and the food served to everyones' liking. Well worth the $30 per person. The entertainment was varied, we danced in the disco one night, saw the 2 production shows, saw a comedian, and a headliner. We enjoyed the piano playing in the lobby bar as well. There was something for everyone. We enjoyed the serenity area the most as far as day time fun on the ship. For the most part you could usually find a chair and the bar service was great. The only part that we were disappointed in was the tendering situation. When trying to get into Grand Cayman we lined up 1 hour and 15 minutes and on the return it was 1 hour and a half waiting in the sun. For Belize they had you goto the Eagles loung by 8:30 am and line up for a tendering ticket. We got there at 8:20 and arrived in Belize at 10:15. For many seasoned cruisers I understand that you are used to this I guess it's normal on most ships but we just didn't realize the time involved, I realize there are upwards of 2500 people trying to get off the ship but still we felt it could have been better organized, especially for GC. Thank goodness we were in port for Roatan and Coz.I'm not going to go in to great detail about the island trips but we enjoyed Roatan the most, we went to the Mayan Princess for $30 a person taxi and $20 to rent chairs and umbrellas. Belize was our next favorite, we went to Caye Caulker for the day and it was just great. Cozumel was the biggest disappointment, we went to Paradise beach, awful, dirty water, coarse sand and too many kids activities which if you have kids would be ok. Thank goodness we only paid $2.00 per person to rent a chair and umbrella and $5.00 per per for the taxi. All in all I guess with a cruise under our belt and with having learned a few things we would book another, just not to the Caribbean as we do enjoy the ocean swimming. Thanks to all who helped me to plan a great vacation, the information on the boards here was invaluable.
