My wife and I choose the Carnival Glory to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary along with my birthday which also occurred while on board. We flew in a day early from upstate NY to Fort Lauderdale via Southwest. Rented a car and visited the Sawgrass Recreation Park in the Everglades for a great air boat ride. Stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in Weston FL. We returned the car Sunday to FLL and were then transported to the Port of Miami by SAS Transportation. First class service at a great price of $15 a person. Embarkation went well. Lines were long but moved quickly. We had been offered an up-sell a few weeks prior to our cruise from a balcony room to a suite. Being a special occasion we took it. We were given VIP status[first time ever} this allowed us a special line to use to process through security and check in. Got on board and had lunch at the Red Sail Buffet prior to be allowed to our cabin promptly at 1:30pm. A fantastic cabin on Empress deck. Extended balcony and large bathroom with bath tub and two sinks was a great bonus. The Glory's Western Caribbean route makes stops in Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Grand Cayman. All these ports had numerous excursions which allowed you to explore what each had to offer. We choose this particular cruise due to these ports of call. The Glory is a huge ship. It is a Conquest class ship so some people have a few issues with navigating around the ship. It can be tricky at first but soon you are able to find your way from place to place. Use the Promenade deck as your point of reference. Public rooms, cabins, pool area, dining areas were all kept extremely clean. The adult serenity areas were a great place to relax away from the masses. Dining was great. We had Your Time Dining which worked well as were able to verify our dining times when needed. We also met a great couple and were able to eat with them on most evenings. The Emerald Steakhouse is top notch and worth the $ 30 if you choose to eat there one evening. The Red Sail Buffet and other casual food offering were all very good. Very satisfied with all the food offerings. Our maitre d '"Chubby" was genuinely concerned for our dining experience as he stopped by each evening to check in. All crew members we encountered were always friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a smile and an hello where ever we went. Our cabin steward was great and kept our room spotless. Their is something going on almost 24 hours a day. You can do a much or as little as you want. You can just sit by the pool or adult area and have a cocktail and relax or be highly involved with activities. The entertainment was very good. We saw two production shows along with the Justin illusion show and Hypnotist show was an unexpected surprise. Very funny. The Ebony Cabaret had comedians on four nights. This was a good time. Family shows are early and adult rated ones are late night. Disembarkation went smoothly. We were fortunate to have zone 1 but were in no great hurry to get off the ship. We had breakfast at the buffet and then made our way off the ships after calming our luggage and clearing customs were to a shuttle to get our rental car at the Miami Airport. We spent our final day in the Miami Beach area and then checked into the Double Tree Galleria One in Fort Lauderdale. Nice property to stay at. We flew home Monday morning and back into the cold northeastern weather. Overall we had a fantastic vacation aboard the Glory. Was everything perfect? No, but close. We would recommend this ship and itinerary to anyone looking for a super time aboard the Fun Ships.

Cabin Review

Cabin 11

This cabin/suite is located forward so you feel some ship movement but nothing you don't get used to. Plenty of room for people and a ton of storage space. Great extended balcony with three chair and a small table. Great area for breakfast or a snack. Quite as on Express deck and have cabins above and below you. No public rooms. It is quick and easy to get to forward stairs and elevators. Bathroom is huge with two sinks and bath tub.
