March, 2011Cabin Steward - We actually saw this person twice. Thats it only 2 times. So not sure what his/her role even should or would be. But keep reading obviously they should be doing something....Complaints on Children - Witnessed a woman complaining to cabin steward on the children next to her running around and screaming starting each morning at 6am. Not her first complaint she stated to the steward I have talked to you before you must do something, this is waking my children and myself every day, please take care of this. We actually spoke to the children requesting they quit running thru the aisles. The woman was not making this up!Horrific Event - Woman who complained about children, confronted the parent of children. We walked up shortly after the incident. The woman had been thrown against the wall breaking the phone by the parent of the children. Security surrounded her, she was shaking/frightened it was awful. The 2 men were then walked by us with a security escort.. Basically the man lost his temper grabbed her hair and threw her in to the wall with her children witnessing the incident. Now I realize that Carnival cannot control the tempers/conversations BUT this issue on the children was brought to their attention and no action to avoid this issue took place.. Which is my GREAT concern, would Carnival ignore me if I complained about a man making advances etc... and then what horrific event could occur or someone bothering my children etc et.. Boarding ship, no greeting, no refreshments available. On deck no service for 30 minutes. Patiently just waiting for server on drinks.Dinner Service - waiter cannot speak clearly (english very poor). We are a large group 2 tables (20 people). Carnival did not assign the same waiter for both tables, which were next to each other. Server at one table smoked, clothes smelled every night, server at other table needed deordorant!! One evening the waiter informed us that he has 2 tables already assigned and that our other table he could not help, he appeared to be overworked, tired, just burned out. Request for help was due to the other waiter not understanding us and we could not understand him.Breakfast service - in dining room. Requested cream, I was informed it was somewhere on the table. (large table could not find it and when I did could not reach it) Buffet - worst we have ever experienced. Food was bland. The only consistency was in the lack of flavor. And the closing of food lines completly each day was inconvenient and confusing.Cabin Credit for number of cabins - The credit was not on our statement as expected.. The document we took to customer service was ignored, customer service could not provide a solution. Even though the document clearly stated the credit that Carnival agreed to based upon the number of cabins we reserved.. We had to contact our travel agent to resolve the issue. Travel agent contacted Carnival and thru his persistence we did receive the credit. The service on this cruise was inconsistent, the employees appeared to be just burned out... We had to be very patient for any level of service, serving of drinks, food etc.. I have registered a complaint with Carnival directly. I have recieved a "sorry, but hope you come back".. Why would we?? Considering the $$ and the service, NO we will NOT.. Be advised Carnival is dropping like a rock for service, this was our 3rd Carnival cruise and is our last. And this affects a total of 20 people who will not be coming back to Carnival.
