Traveled with children

I don't know where to start with this (my 2nd) cruise, the ship is truly amazing, looks fab and is spotlessly clean tho staff were trying to eradicate an outbreak of the dreaded norovirus, i heard of no sickness so due the constant cleaning they seemed to have successfully sanitised the ship. I travelled with my wife and two children aged 11 and 2 (in school time naughty i know), there are many restaurants on board most you do have to pay a service charge of around $20.00 pp to dine in. The main buffet restaurant up on deck 11 (free) we found was awful. On times the Que for a table was 6 deep then once you get a table you have to Que for the food which all i can say resembled school dinners. We chose to dine in romeo and juliet's 6.00 sitting, most evenings which was the waiter service restaurant on deck 3 (also free)the food was a lot nicer down there, though still not as nice as i was expecting. The service i received each evening was great, Andrew and Curtis made us feel special and couldn't do enough for my two children. as we travelled in school time the ship consisted of mainly over 70's, i am very keen on the elderly but i could not wait to leave them as omg they cracked me up. also a few of them very rude. no sorry very very rude. I did sample the flow rider and must say loved it tho i did have to que for each 30 sec surf i would imagine in non school time would be a huge Que. also qued for rock climbing which was great though i was not good at it but my daughter got to the top twice ggrrrr. also did the ice skating which was good. We found the days at sea was mind numbingly boring and we would just find ourselves strolling up and down the royal promenade endlessly pulling our hair out. we spoke to some yanks who were crown and anchor members who assured us that we shouldnt rate royal carribean by this ship and they to were dissapointed. the royal prominade on arrival looked amazing but on leaving made me sick. the royal prominade consisted of a barbers at quite a cost, ben and jerrys icecream parlour nice around $3,00 for a tub, an artist who will scetch one of your holiday pictures at around $50.00 which would of been nice but the price put us off from having this done $70.00 for my two children.a british pub which was great but again expensive (around 5.00 pounds a pint wow) we bought a beer package at $29.00 a day which i shared with my wife so would imagine saved us a lot. There is constantly a photographer snapping away which provided us with some great shots and memorys again at a cost from $15.00 upto $25.00 per photo. expensive but i did buy a couple as they were lush.Would i do a cruise again hummmm, probably tho not for a long time as i missed the sun and pool yes this ship had a pool but it just wasnt the same.
