This is our second cruise with NCL, years ago my husband and I cruised Alaska with NCL and it was pretty nice or at least that's how I remember it.This time around we traveled with our kids, my daughter is 3.5 and 8 month old baby, my father in law also joined us for this cruise. We had a mini-suit Aft room and father in law booked Balcony room. Rooms were as expected not that big but it was OK for us with 2 little kids, the only downside my UppaBaby stroller did not fit into doorway and we had to fold it down every night and morning to get in and out of the room, so if you have one of those larger strollers keep this in mind. Getting on in NYC was easy since my father in law requested a wheelchair and they took us all the way to dinning room bypassing all the lines. So that part was good, rooms were ready by 2pm or so.Next day was at sea, so we took our daughter to one of the Nick activities and then tried to enroll her into kids club, this was just terrible. It seemed that everyone decided to go at once and NCL can't manage anything. After waiting for about 30 minutes in line with one very inpatient toddler, my husband almost got into fight with fellow passenger we finally got her in. Here is the problem, some kids are not the type to easily separate from their parents so NCL should said let your kid be and come back in 20 to check if they are crying or not, instead they let the parents hang out in very narrow door way for 20 or so minutes so no one else could register following kid and whole process was taking forever, I mostly blame it on NCL, since they could care less about parents being agitated. Also it seemed that activities for 2-5 year old were not all that either, so following days we did not bother much with kids club. All the Nick activities are short and generally have a line or a large crowd of little kids so be on time and be prepared for little shoving and pushing. Some parents were acting like animals and being very inconsiderate of other kids.In Port Canaveral we took a cab to Coco Village and then from there a bus to the beach and cab back to the ship it was nice and relaxing. If you go to the beach you can bring your ship towels and rent and umbrella or chairs. Following day is GSC, I read a lot of complaints about people pushing and shoving to get to the tenders, I did not see any of that more or less everything was good, beach is nice, I did buy the clam shells and that was perfect as it was very hot day. Getting back to the ship was bit of a line and some people were complaining behind my back that I put one person in line and then just rolled up to the front with my stroller, I just let it go, I was not going to keep the baby in the sun just for sake of these people. Some people are very petty. Following stop Nassau, got off the ship walked for 10 or so minutes to Hilton bought a day pass and spend the whole day on the beach. They charged for 3 adults $165 and that also included food at their grill/bar by the pool, food was pretty good. Walked back to the ship with out any problems. Next two days were spent at sea, some people said there is nothing to do on the ship, well its not true there is something going on all the time but everything is extra, they charge for everything. I do recommend martini tasting, they ran them twice for the week and that was a good deal. Now the worst thing is the food, I have not had anything more disgusting in all of my experience ever, they could not get anything right in the buffet. Ate couple of times at Tsars and Azura, it was better but by all means not all that. The only more or less eatable items were deserts and fruit. I don't know by whose standard this food is good, I am not picky but even for me this was just gross.Disembark in NY was bit delayed but we took our time and by 11am I was home. Now NCL allowed to bring soda, juice and water on board, with that I did manage to sneak in 3 bottles of wine, they caught my 4th bottle and asked $15 to open it, I left it with them. We tipped our room guys, and all the servers in cash and trust me they prefer that vs the $12 that ship will charge you a day, so give cash to those who served you and you can reduce the service charge at the end if you wish. The only reason we booked a cruise is because of the baby, I am not coming back again unless I am going to Hawaii or Europe, my daughter loved it and so did my father in law, myself and hubby did not care much for it.
