My wife and I just returned from an 8-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. We are in our mid-40's and have no children. This was our first cruise. We booked it at the last minute as a "getaway" so we didn't have a lot of time to research and compare the various cruise lines.

The ship is beautiful, inside and out. It is less than a year old. I was very impressed with the ship. When in port, comparing it to other ships, there was no doubt which was the prettiest. The center of the ship has this large open area with Deck 4 as the floor and Deck 11 as the ceiling. From each deck in between, you can look down or up. This far exceeded my expectations in terms of the architecture of the ship.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
