We sailed on the new Celebrity Eclipse for a back to back Eastern-Western cruise on Feb.12,2011. It is a beautiful ship but it has many flaws, especially for people staying on for two weeks.First off let me begin by saying the first week there were 40 children and the second week 400! (presidents week)Guess What? Celebrity has a children's program but this ship was built with NO CHILDRENS POOL!! This means that families with babies(and there were many) were in the main pool with babies in DIAPERS,even though the signs clearly state "no persons of any age in diapers". Little swimmers are still diapers-and the signs were clearly ignored. This is clearly a HEALTH HAZARD!We complained twice to the pursers office and also to the pool attendants to no avail. This is DISGUSTING and not safe for the rest of us who want to enjoy the pool. I also called Celebrity customer relations when we got home and were told that babies in diapers were Not allowed in the pool-So Why were they there? (because parents had no place else to take them since there is no baby pool) Big Mistake when building this ship. Then even though they had two separate weeks with two different itineraries they had the exact same menus in the restaurants both weeks and the same entertainment. After the first week of seeing all the shows-we had nothing to do the second week after dinner. Everything was the same-even the pool games, trivia, movies etc. What a Drag!Obviously Celebrity is not looking for back to back cruises and certainly is not equipped for families with babies-even though there must be a demand since there had to be 200 or more families on board. So Cruisers Beware!! Unless you want-Babies in the pool with diapers and repeated entertainment- then Celebrity Eclipse is not for you-for our dollars we will be sticking with Princess!!

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 11

Very large for an inside room

no shelving-wasted space where they could have put shelves

not enough drawers

quiet location at end of the hall

great bathroom with terrific shower (sliding plastic doors)

no shelves in the closet either-just space for hanging clothes and shoes
