When we arrived at Port Canaveral our bags were taken easily enough. We went inside and were told to go take a seat in "this line", moments later a not so nice employee told us we were in the wrong seats (how were we to know, that's where we were told to sit). The showed us new seats, I assume for punishment they showed us the back row and we had to wait until lots of folks who came later went ahead of us. Finally we were sent to another line to wait for the check-in process which took about an hour. Now time to get on the ship! The ship was clean and about 30 minutes after we got on the loud speaker advised our rooms were ready. We were on deck 6a which was difficult to find for first timers, no elevator access to this floor (we were not advised of this ahead of time). Our cabin steward John was absolutely a delight, he knew all of our names by that evening. He was in our room cleaning up after us several times per day. No complaints with John at all.We had three bags that we checked, only two arrived at our room by the evening. I called and was told if it didn't make it to the room I needed to go to a certain area where they were being held. After trying a couple of times with a very long line I decided I had to grin and bear it and got in line. 45-55 minutes later it was my turn. I was advised to go in this room and find my suitcase, it had to be opened and thoroughly gone through. Swimsuits, sandals, beach towels, sunscreen and store brand sealed facial cleanser. I asked why my case was held and he didn't know, maybe the facial cleanser. I had to haul my case back to my room, through the casino, a club, etc. Remember, I had no elevator access to our floor. Folks in the line for their suitcases were quite unhappy and vocal.Food wasn't too terribly bad but the lines really need to be reviewed as people were running into each other or reaching through to get plates while the guest waited for an omelet or pasta. Just wasn't set up to flow well. One thing I really appreciated was all of the hand sanitizer stations. Plus, when you entered the food area there was an employee standing there to spray everybody's hands. I personally really appreciated this as I know some would not clean their hands without this...Okay, the ports of Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Maarten were awesome. I wish we could have had more time in each port though, would love to stay like 8am-8pm in each port. Nassau - shopping finally opened up (Sunday), been here before so we were able to go through quickly and go back to ship.St. Thomas - we booked the Megans bay + downtown shopping excursion. Once we arrived at the beach we were told to be back in two hours and would then go shopping for two hours. I certainly didn't think two hours on this gorgeous beach was going to be enough, it was plenty of time to be in the sun. We did eat once we got downtown, wow, for two of us with one wings and one nachos with cheese only, one drink it was close to $40. and it wasn't worth the money. St. Maarten you can take a water taxi to the beach/shopping for $6. round trip. It is worth it. We also were able to rent two beach chairs w/cushions, one umbrella and five beers (we had water, soda) for $20. which is also worth it. However, you are constantly asked 'do you want to buy this and that' over and over during your stay. Teenagers rented jet skis for $55. for 30 minutes.Speaking of teenagers, ours were bored on the ship. They went to the teen group on first night only to realize the ages were 13-17 and one thing on the agenda for the week was a pillow fight. How many 17 year old boys want to have a pillow fight? Last year they had a blast on Carnival in the teen group (ages 15-17).I went to the NCL teen room to get a paper just in case since the kids have to have parents signature. I walked in and was looking at the paperwork when a young man from behind the desk said quite rudely "you need to leave, this is a parent free zone". I was shocked that I wasn't greeted with "can I help you", anything other than leave! We decided that we will be headed back to Carnival in the future, it just seems to suit us better.

Cabin Review

Room was port side ocean view room. The size of the room was good. The closet space with hangers was very generous. Drawer space fine as well. The shower was very, very small. Shower was my only complaint and that wasn't a big deal really.
