3/20/2011 thru 3/27/2011This was my first cruise ever so I don't have anything to compare my cruise to but here goes.Balcony Stateroom - Small but that is what I expected on a ship. Clean and comfortable and room attendants very polite and accommodating. I"ll give this a 5Food - Raffles Buffet was very disappointing since most everyone I spoke with that has cruised before raves about the food. The hot food was always cold which I had serious concerns about health risk not keeping it at proper temperatures. All the meats carving station, burgers were way overcooked dry and tasteless. Overall the food here was the pitts. The people preparing this food apparently never taste it or have no taste at all. Departing from New Orleans which has some of the best food in the country NCL might want to hire a few local chefs to show them what good food really is. I'll rate this a big fat ZERO Le Bistro - Excellent and well worth the additional $20 bucks per person. This on gets a 5 Shogun - Again Excellent and for $15 bucks for all the sushi you can eat you can't beat it. This gets a 5. Windows - Okay wasn't great but wasn't terrible, service was excellent and if you had to wait it was less than 10 minutes. This gets a 3. My biggest complaint is that the had alot a Spring Breakers on board. The young adults and I use the term lightly were extremely loud and I've heard sailors use better language. During the day it was impossible to use the jacuzzi's because they were filled to capacity with these breakers drinking like there was no end or until they passed out or they maxed out their credit lines on their cruise cards.I can understand having a good time but be respectful of others around you as there were young children on board. You couldn't get a lounge chair by the pool because people would throw their towels down and walk away for hours which I thought was really unfair as others I know where wanting to get a little sun and take a swim. I did see a few breakers being carried back to their rooms by their friends which was pathetic hoping to get to their rooms before they spilled their guts. I know of two that were arrested for fighting and disembarked by NCL at our first stop in Costa Maya. Two others were arrested in Belize and carted off the boat by the local authorities for what I don't know. NCL should really place some limits on the amounts that these breakers are allowed to drink in an hour or require chaperones for these groups of breakers under the age of 25. They must have gotten some complains by other passengers because they eventually had security walking around the pool area by the sail back to New Orleans. I'll never ever sail again during spring break.I was really not impressed as all the time anything and everything came with a price, trying to sell you something on the boat with seminars on how to shop trying to squeeze very last dime out of you.Overall I tried to overlook Raffles and the Breakers and had a nice trip, but I think next time I'll give another cruise line a try.
